William found his direction early.
After discovering he preferred hands-on work to the classroom, he completed work experience with his uncle and realised carpentry was the right fit. He made the decision to finish school in Year 10 and begin his apprenticeship — securing employment soon after.
“An apprenticeship is a good thing because you get to learn the job and get paid while you do it.”

William already has his sights set on the future. Once fully qualified, he hopes to run his own carpentry business and potentially mentor an apprentice of his own.
